DareToGrow Student Ministries is a group of 6th through 12th graders.

But we are more than just a youth group; we are people like you who wonder if there is anything more to life than just survival. Is there really a bigger story out there for us to get into? Did God really make us this way for a reason?

Throughout all history, God has been seeking His people. He has been seeking to make of His creation a Royal Family - to be called by his name and known throughout the world as His people. From the covenant with Abraham, to the giving of the law, to wandering in the desert, God has been trying to form us into His people. We now see the mystery of the Gospel… that through Christ, through the cross, all nations for all time can be drawn into unity under His leadership.

In Acts 2, we see a perfect description of God’s plan for His church. Let's examine verses 42-47 and see this template He has created for us.
- The first image we see screams of Unity and Devotion. The Apostles had just suffered their greatest defeat in the face of utter chaos – a crucified savior. They were re-unified by the risen Christ to a common purpose - a new goal to take His message to all people.
- We also see that through this devotion, God worked some amazing things through the greatest Spiritual Gifts the world has ever seen. With everything being purposed for the edification of the body and the glory of Christ.
- The lives the First Century Christians lived were obvious in that they shared a common Love for each other. Although very different in their abilities, the bond they shared through this new devotion and purpose brought them together as one.
- Finally, we see that they placed Fellowship high on the order of their day. And it is only ‘in’ this state of fellowship that the template is complete. Their unity, devotion, gifts, and love can only come together for God’s glory in fellowship.

We believe that through this template, this living example, we too may share in His richest blessings.

We want to be real with each other, about our successes and our failures. We believe God has been on the move from the beginning and wants us to be a part of His story. We believe that all who are called by His name are a part of that story. We believe the bible is the compass that directs us closer to God, and helps us navigate this life. We believe that God sent His Son to die in our place so that we could be right with him. And without Him, we are hopelessly lost to eternal separation from God. We believe God’s Spirit is constantly molding us to be more like him. We believe there are others who feel the same way.

People who are asking, “Is this all there is?” Come and join us and let’s journey together.  Want to become a member of Dare To Grow Youth Ministry?  Keep reading below!

How to Become a Member of Dare To Grow Youth Group:

Membership is important in today’s society. As a matter of fact, it is important to Jesus. We have our first example of people being added to the membership of Jesus Christ, coincidentally, right after our very first record of a Gospel sermon. Acts chapter 2 gives us this account. As you read this chapter, you begin to see a complete change in life. Priorities were shifted (vs. 42-47); the poor were fed, the lonely and oppressed were welcomed, the wealth of everyone’s gifts and talents was available, everyone became servants and everyone enjoyed the favor of the Lord! Selfish desires became a thing of the past and being first in the kingdom became the order of the day (Matthew 20:24-28). Serving Christ by serving others, loving Jehovah God by helping those in need (Hebrews 6:10), showing thanks and gratitude to the One who created by encouraging and loving His people… this is what the first church was about. This is also exactly what Jesus Christ was about in His ministry while on earth. Therefore, this is what Dare To Grow is about.

When becoming a member of the New Braunfels Church of Christ Youth Group, you can enjoy the favor of a community of Christians as you walk along side us as we work in the kingdom. Membership here is not a stagnant role. However, it is far more important to us for you to become a member of the Body of Christ (Acts 2:41,47), which has blessings in this life and the next! Scripture is very clear that one’s motivation must be pure. You come to Christ willing to submit to His way of life, admitting you need Him (Romans 6:1-2; Galatians 3:10-14). We don’t accept Christ, He accepts us. We only submit to His will.

In our submission, we no longer seek to please others (Galatians 1:10). We seek to please our Lord and Savior. Jesus asks us to turn away from the things of the world, from our own selfishness… not only to see where we have been wrong but also to be aware of our actions toward others (John 8:1-11; 2 Corinthians 2:5-11). In this new state of thinking, we confess with our being that Jesus Christ is both the Son of God and our Lord and Savior (Romans 10:9-10; Acts 26:20). We then are instructed by Jesus to be baptized into His Body by being immersed in water, sealing us with His Holy Spirit, saving us from our sin (Mark 16:15-16; Acts 2:38; Romans 6:3-7; Galatians 3:26-27; Colossians 2:11-12; 1 Peter 3:20-21). We have record of people coming to Christ all through scripture and in every case; they were immersed in water (baptized) (Acts 2:41; 8:36-39; 9:17-19; Matthew 3:13-17). When we rise from the waters of baptism, our lives are committed to God and we trust in His power to save us. We then enjoy the favor of God’s people as we develop new and lasting relationships that are only possible through Jesus Christ. We continue to honor God as we bring the gifts and talents He has equipped us with, and work along side His people for His purpose.

We have many different ministries within Dare To Grow; Bible Bowl, Leadership Training for Christ (LTC), Life groups, Sunday morning Bible classes, Sunday afternoon Bible study for those even more interested in learning the path God has chosen for them, Summer camps, Summer mission trips, Youth Praise, Saturday Night Live (SNL) one Saturday a month, and just spur of the moment get-togethers where we have fun and hang out. We are always looking for ways to hang out and serve each other and others as well.

Maybe you’ve never submitted your life to Christ, or even been involved in a church family. Perhaps you’re just curious about who we are, what we’re about, and what it means to follow Jesus. Whatever the case, we invite you to work along side of us and get involved with us. Our hope and prayer is that you will fall in love with us… but more importantly, that you will fall in love with Jesus Christ and submit to His perfect plan.
